First Advantage recognizes that most learning and development is accomplished through on-the-job experience and assignments, while the remainder is gained by interacting with others through networking, coaching and mentoring as well as formal learning programs.
Learning Through Experience
At First Advantage, the majority of development happens through on-the-job experiences and career moves within our diverse company. We know that it is important to carefully plan development that will prepare team members for future roles at our company. As an employee, you can further your own development by seeking out opportunities that translate into experiences that improve and enhance your skill set.
New assignments and job changes provide you with the opportunity to learn and develop while preparing for future roles at First Advantage. Leading or participating in a project, working on a cross-functional team or accepting an international assignment, are all examples of valuable on-the-job learning experiences at First Advantage.
Learning Through Others
Building a network, creating relationships and receiving feedback are critical to personal and professional development. Activities such as coaching and mentoring provide the guidance and support to help improve performance and grow capabilities. More and more our employees are benefiting from assessments, such as the 360 process that can provide insight and feedback from multiple perspectives on performance, so that they can identify opportunities for continued growth and improvement. Informal networking also increases effectiveness as our team members establish productive relationships with co-workers and key individuals across First Advantage.
Training and Learning Programs
First Advantage offers a variety of formal and informal learning programs that target individual development. These courses are typically offered online via our e-Learning tools or offered in the workplace, when possible. First Advantage’s learning programs are directly tied to our business needs and selected to develop specific functional or behavioral competencies for our team members.
